LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The governor has officially proclaimed it National Teen Driving Safety Week.
Raising awareness and preventing teen crashes was the focus at the state capitol today. Crashes are the leading killer of teenagers every year, but officials said we are making gains in improving those numbers.
Sometimes it can be the teens themselves that help us all be more aware of driving safety.
"When I'm in the car I know I really shouldn't be texting or having any interaction with my cell phone. I think about it like that," said Caelynn Houston of Parkview Magnet High School. She went on to say that she has taught her mom a thing or two about cell phone safety in the car.
