Shuffles & Ballet II Grand Reopening and Open House, Thursday, Aug. 16, 5-8 p.m.
Though the studio is still located in Little Rock's Market and Merrill Shopping Center (1521 Merrill Drive), where it has been welcoming aspiring twinkletoes of all ages for 27 years, visitors will find a brand-new facility. The expanded lobby features a coffee bar, wi-fi and a television, more seating areas, a play area for youngsters and dressing rooms for students. Dancers will practice on new sprung floors in five fresh dance rooms to music played on new sound systems.
On Thursday, guests can tour the new space, meet dancers from the school's professional company, Ballet Arkansas, register for fall classes and enjoy refreshments. Fall classes begin Sept. 4 and are offered for all ages in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, modern and musical theater.

Back to School All Night Roller Skate Party at Arkansas Skatium, Friday, Aug. 17 7 p.m.
Join this slumber party at the skate rink before heading back to school for the fall. Kids will skate the night away with friends, participate in games and nosh on snacks.
