CABOT, Ark. (KTHV) - The American Legion in Cabot took time Saturday to recognize the fallen members of U.S. military and those currently serving.
The Veterans Day ceremony took place at the Community Center across from Lonoke High School. During the event, veterans placed a wreath on the Veterans Memorial.
The veterans of Lonoke County and the State of Arkansas also received special recognition. Those in attendance said these men and women fight for something all Americans should appreciate.
"One word freedom. We wouldn't have what we have today if it wasn't for them," said Cdr. Rob Bissett with the American Legion.
Major General William D. Wofford with the Air National Guard served as keynote speaker.
