WASHINGTON (CNN) -- It's a clear sign that the holiday season is kicking off. The Capitol Christmas Tree arrived in Washington this morning.

You can see Santa and Mrs. Claus were on hand to welcome the tree and those who gathered to see it.

The 65-foot-tall Engelmann spruce came all the way from the White River National Forest in Colorado.

Once crews get the massive tree secured in the ground, it is expected to be decorated with approximately five-thousand ornaments.

The decorations were handcrafted by Coloradans to reflect this year's theme, "Celebrating our Great Outdoors."
