Dept. of Finance reports year-to-date state revenue surplus

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas' Dept. of Finance and Administration released its General Revenue Report for December on Thursday.

It shows the year-to-date net available general revenues total $2,430.3 million for the fiscal year, which is about four percent above revenue levels a year ago. For December alone, the net available general revenue totaled $465.5 million, or nine percent above last year and four percent above the forecast.

The Soft Drink Tax brought in $1 million less in year-to-date collections than the previous year. To see the report in full, click on the pdf document attached to this story.

John Shellnut with the Dept. of Finance and Administration said the report is released to the Gov. Mike Beebe and legislators. They will decide how any surplus of revenue is distributed.
