CHANGCHUN, China (CNN) -- Shock and anger in China after a man confessed to killing a baby boy he found inside a stolen car.
Police say the man stole the SUV Monday after the baby's father left it outside a supermarket in Changchun with the engine running.
The 48-year-old suspect turned himself into local police Tuesday night after an intense manhunt.
Authorities say he admitted strangling the infant and burying the child's body in the snow.
He then abandoned the baby's clothes and the car in the nearby city of Gongzhuling.
According to ChinaDaily, the suspect is charged with intentional homicide.
If convicted, he could be sentenced to death under China's penal code...
However, the punishment could be lessened because he turned himself in.
