SCOTT COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- A Northwest Arkansas student faces felony charges after authorities said she threatened to kill her classmates at Mansfield Middle School.

They said she put a note in another girl's locker, saying by 10:30 a.m. everyone at the school would be dead.

School administrators sent text and email alerts to parents letting them know a threat had been made and that police would be patrolling campus keeping students safe.

"I was shocked. I mean, my reaction was just 'This is not supposed to happen here. Not in this town.' This is a small town. I grew up here. You know a thousand people, but you never know," said Betsy Rush, a concerned parent.

Police said they found no gun and no report of shots fired. They are not holding the student in custody but said she will face felony charges.
