FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a Fort Smith man who was struck in a hit-and-run collision last November has died from his injuries.
Police say 66-year-old Abul Hossain was walking on 64th Street on Nov. 16 when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle. Police say Hossain suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police say Hossain died Monday while under hospice care at Mercy Hospital. He had been hospitalized since the day of the accident.
No arrests have been made in the fatal collision. Authorities describe the vehicle as a Dodge Durango SUV with a missing passenger side mirror and damage to other areas on the passenger side.
