LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas' Sen. Mark Pryor, D, is working with a Central Arkansas Boy Scout troop to help Oklahoma tornado victims.
Troop 99 spent Friday at War Memorial stadium collecting supplies for crews working on cleaning up the debris.
One of the troops' members used to live in Moore, Oklahoma, where the deadly twister hit on Monday.
Pryor said it's important for Arkansans to help their neighbors and for children to learn about volunteering.
"These people (in Oklahoma) need the help now," Pryor said. "If we need to come up with some more money, let's do it. We'll figure out that on the back end. But they need the help right now."
Some items that are needed to help tornado victims include shovels, water hoses, rakes, and gloves.
The scouts will continue to collect items at War Memorial stadium through Saturday.
