It's hard to pin down Kinky Friedman. He is a progressive
country music singer. He is a poet. He is an author, having written more than 30 books; he is an entrepreneur, coming out with his own line of tequila (Man In Black Tequila.)
He is also a politician, having run for Governor of Texas (he finished 4th.) He is planning to run again, by the way.
But, he is also a believer in worthwhile causes, and when those
involve animals, Friedman responds. On Friday, he's making a special Benefit concert appearance at the Argenta Community Theater, located at 405 Main Street in North Little Rock, to raise money for Wingspur Ranch.
Wingspur is near Bigelow, and serves as a reserve for wild horses rescued from slaughter. Excey Johnston maintains the ranch and caught the attention of Friedman, who instantly agreed to help.
Friedman will also be at White Water Tavern, located at 2500 W 7th Street in Little Rock, Saturday night.
Both shows are at 8pm.
Tickets are $30
