BATESVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - Fake dollar bills are being used more often in Arkansas, and now in smaller values than in the past.
Independence County authorities have found smaller amounts of money, including $1 and $10 bills, being used, according to KAIT.
"We charged a lot of people last year, probably 10 or 15 that we charged with counterfeit money from hundreds to twenties and tens," Investigator Jeff Sims. "Maybe they're going to smaller bills hoping that they won't be detected and be checked."
