PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says a man died after getting into a confrontation with his neighbor.
Authorities say Edward Charles Lee, 34, is under arrest and charged with first degree murder. According to the police report, Lee shot and killed Antonio Davis, 22, after trying to break up an argument between Davis and another man.
Lee told authorities that he went across the street with a gun to break up the fight. Lee said when he got there, Davis became confrontational. Lee told authorities that he had a prior history of violence with Davis, and during the last confrontation Davis allegedly broke Lee's ankle.
Lee tells authorities he feared for his life when Davis started to approach him, so he fired four times at Davis. Lee says he doesn't remember if he dropped the gun or if it was taken from him, but authorities found it on the porch.
Lee then says he ran home and locked the doors in fear of retaliation on him and his son. Lee says when he heard the Sheriff's deputy outside he walked out to surrender himself.
Davis was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
