John Arnoult is charged with capital murder for the deaths of Constance Cole and John Poff.
HARRISBURG, Ark. (AP) - A prosecutor says he's seeking the death penalty against a man charged with capital murder in the deaths of two people in northeast Arkansas.
Prosecutor Scott Ellington filed a motion Thursday in Poinsett County Circuit Court to seek the death penalty against 28-year-old John Anthony Arnoult of Jonesboro.
Arnoult is charged in the Sept. 2 killings of 57-year-old John Poff and 56-year-old Constance "Connie" Cole. Authorities say Poff and Cole both suffered blunt force trauma and were shot with a .40-caliber handgun.
Authorities arrested Arnoult after a maintenance worker found Cole and Poff dead in Poff's mobile home in Trumann.
The Jonesboro Sun reports that Arnoult is due in court Monday morning for a motions hearing.
