LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Little Rock School Board of Directors voted to delay a vote for 30 days on a land purchase for a new high school.
The district is looking to buy more than 55 acres located east of Mabelvale Pike to build a new high school, but decided to delay the vote in order to address concerns that have risen over the location.
"We would love to have the work. What concerns us is taking our high school students out of our area and taking our children out of our area," said Pam Adcock, a parent who informed THV11 that she isn't opposed to getting a new school but is concerned about the location.
The school district is also planning to purchase land in west Little Rock to build a new middle school at the end of Katillus Road.
