LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Nov. 10, 2012) - It started off as three guys in a backyard arguing over who had the best barbeque and now the B Street Rib Off is celebrating its 5th year.

The event will take place today, November 10th at MacArthur Park in Little Rock and will feature a BBQ cooking competition that includes ribs, chicken and side dishes.

The public is invited to come out, starting around noon, to judge the side dish competition for a $5 donation. Event organizers expect to donate over $1,500 to the American Cancer Society after the event.

The B Street Rib Off, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2008 by Jason Brown, Justin Hinton and Matthew Ross as a friendly competition to establish the best rib cook in the group.

"It feels great to reach this point. We knew that we had enough interest to make this a philanthropy event and we finally did it," said Ross. "We had a goal of reaching the nonprofit status by the 5th year and we're excited to have reached that goal early."

THV 11 News's own Ashley Blackstone will serve as a celebrity judge.
