UNDATED (CNN/NASA) -- Astronomers will be glued to their telescopes and staring skyward Friday as a large asteroid makes a very close trip past the earth!
These are NASA radar images and illustrations of the asteroid DA 14.
The 150-meter diameter rock is going to pass so close to Earth tomorrow, it will be even closer than some satellites!
NASA says it will be the best opportunity ever to monitor a near-miss by an object so large, and learn more about asteroid path prediction.
No need to worry, though; NASA scientists say it will definitely not hit the globe.
That's a good thing, too; astronomers say an asteroid this size would cause an explosion equivalent to a two-and-a-half megaton bomb.
