LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Pull out those old fishing poles and tackle because this weekend they could be worth something.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is hosting an Antique Tackle Roadshow in Little Rock this weekend. Members of the Fishing Lure Collectors Club will be there to evaluate, identify, and appraise old fishing items.
THV 11's Mark Edwards sat down with collector David Stalnaker to get a lesson in what types of lure have monetary value.
"This one has all the qualities that makes a bait valuable," Stalnaker explains. "It's got good condition paint, desirable to a lot of people, and the correct box that it goes in. At an antique lure show, this lure would easily bring a thousand dollars."
The roadshow is free and takes place today, March 30 at the Witt Stephen Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center, 602 President Clinton Avenue, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
