JONESBORO, Ark. (2/1/13)- Arkansas State head women's golf coach M.J.?Desbiens Shaw announced Thursday that Northwood (Fla.) University transfer Marie Couffignal has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Red Wolves this spring.
Couffignal is a native of Puymirol, France, where she was a finalist of the French Women's Championship in August of 2011 and won an under 16 team women's championship in July of 2009.
"I am thrilled to have Marie come join our team this spring - she is a great addition to our team," said Desbiens Shaw. "Marie brings some international experience and also some college experience after spending two semesters at an NAIA school. She has already demonstrated some great skills and I believe will help our team this spring."
During her career at Northwood, Couffignal finished fourth in the 2012 Sun Conference Championship. Couffignal will be a sophomore this semester and will be immediately eligible to play in the fall 2013 season.
