RICHARDSON, Texas (LSC) - Harding sophomore Ewa Zaborowska was named the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Academic Athlete of the Year on Thursday, as conference officials announced the LSC's annual academic awards for men's and women's indoor track and field.

Zaborowska (Wejherowo, Poland) and sophomore Dallis Bailey (Conway, Mo.) were named to the LSC Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team, and junior Landon Belcher was named to the Men's All-Academic Team.

Zaborowska, an accounting major with a 4.0 grade point average, has the top time of the season in both the mile (4:49.88, HU record) and the 3,000 meters (9:46.39) and runs the anchor leg on Harding's distance medley relay team with the best time in the LSC (11:54.87).

Bailey, a family and consumer sciences major with a 3.85 grade point average, ranks fourth in the LSC in the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.04. Bailey is also Harding's leadoff runner on the distance medley relay.

Belcher is a senior biology major with a 3.65 grade point average. He ranks second in the LSC in the 400 meters (48.62) and 13th in the 200 meters (22.55).

To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 grade point average and have reached sophomore status both athletically and academically. The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the conference's sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement.

Harding competes in the Lone Star Conference as an associate member and will take part in the LSC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday in Lubbock, Texas.
