Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Semaj Christon and Brad Redford both scored
21 points as the Xavier Musketeers posted a 71-56 win over the George
Washington Colonials in at Atlantic 10 Conference action at the Cintas Center.
Christon added seven assists while Redford converted all but one of his eight
3-point tries for the Musketeers (9-6, 2-0 A-10) as they won their second
straight game. Jeff Robinson added 14 points and Travis Taylor checked in with
11 rebounds, six points and six assists for the hosts.
The Colonials (7-8, 1-1) were paced by Lasan Kromah with 12 points off the
bench as the team bowed for the second time in three games.
George Washington fell behind immediately, shooting only 33.3 percent from the
floor as it trailed 35-20 at the break. The Musketeers made good on 59.3
percent from the field in the period, including 3-of-4 behind the 3-point
line.
In the second half Xavier again shot the ball well from the floor, converting
at a 54.5 percent clip, not to mention another 5-of-6 on the perimeter, as the
team cruised to the 15-point victory.
The hosts finished the day shooting an impressive 57.1 percent from the floor.
