Greenville, SC (Sports Network) - Clint Mann scored a career-high 20 points to
lead the Davidson Wildcats to a 81-73 victory over the Furman Paladins in
Southern Conference action at Timmons Arena.
Three other Wildcats (9-6, 4-0 SoCon) joined Mann in double figures. Nik
Cochran added 17 points, Jake Cohen finished with 14 and Chris Czerapowicz
chipped in with 13 points.
For the Paladins (3-11, 0-3), Colin Reddick scored 18 points, Larry Wideman
finished with 13 and Kendrec Ferrara added 10 points as well as eight
rebounds.
The teams shot an identical 51.9 percent from the field in the first half.
Davidson overcame an early 13-point deficit and took a 43-38 advantage into
intermission by knocking down 6-of-12 from 3-point range and outscoring the
Paladins 9-6 at the free-throw line.
After halftime, the Wildcats made 45.2 percent of their field goal tries,
including 4-of-11 from 3-point range. The Paladins shot 44 percent from the
field in the second half but just 2-of-7 from 3-point distance.
Trailing by one, 57-56, midway through the frame, the Wildcats used a 21-8 run
to put themselves ahead for good and remain perfect in SoCon play.
The Wildcats had the edge in second chance points, 18-6, and points off
turnovers, 17-7. The teams were even on points in the paint, both scoring 28.
