Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Spencer Dinwiddie scored 24 points as the
Colorado Buffaloes earned a 72-68 victory over the Oregon State Beavers in a
Pac-12 Conference battle at Gill Coliseum.
Josh Scott added 17 points, Sabatino Chen chipped in 10 points and Andre
Roberson contributed 10 rebounds and five steals for Colorado (16-7, 6-5
Pac-12) which has won five of its last six games.
Roberto Nelson put in 21 points, Ahmad Starks tallied 20 points while hitting
6-of-11 from beyond the arc and Joe Burton contributed 15 points and 12
rebounds for Oregon State (12-12, 2-9) which has lost four of its last five.
At halftime Oregon State had a slim 34-33 lead after shooting 41.9 percent
from the floor, including a 5-of-13 effort from 3-point range. Colorado shot
just 41.4 percent from the floor in the first period.
After halftime the Beavers shot at a 50 percent clip while Colorado hit at a
41.4 percent rate once again. However the Buffaloes had a 12-4 edge from the
free-throw line and Dinwiddie scored six points in the final two minutes to
capture the win for Colorado.
The game featured five ties and 10 lead changes. Oregon State lost despite a
39-30 edge on the boards. Colorado outscored the Beavers, 18-7, from the
free-throw line.
