Boulder, CO (Sports Network) - Andre Roberson recorded a double-double with 10
points and 13 rebounds as the Colorado Buffaloes posted a 60-50 win over the
Runnin' Utes of Utah in Pac-12 Conference play at the Coors Events Center.
During the contest Roberson, who added four steals and a couple of blocked
shots, registered the 1,000th rebound of his career, becoming just the second
player in Colorado history to reach that plateau. Also scoring in double
figures for the Buffaloes (18-8, 8-6 Pac-12) were Spencer Dinwiddie and
Sabatino Chen with 13 and 12 points, respectively, as the squad won for the
fourth time in the last five outings.
Utah (11-15, 3-11), which has dropped two straight and fourth of the last
five, was paced by Jordan Loveridge with 12 points and seven rebounds,
followed by Jason Washburn and Brandon Taylor with 10 points apiece.
The Utes led by as many as five points in the first half, but even with 50.0
percent shooting from the floor in the period the team still trailed by a
basket at the break, 30-28.
In the second half the Utes failed to make it to the free-throw line even once
and connected on a total of only nine field goals as Colorado pulled away in
the final minutes to secure the double-digit victory at home.
Not only did the visitors turn the ball over 15 times on the night, they were
also outscored at the charity stripe, 12-4.
