Tom joined THV 11 in April 1996 as weekend meteorologist. Two years later, he joined B.J. Sams and Robyn Richardson as co-anchor of "THV11 This Morning," which has become Arkansas' most popular morning news program. He now co-anchors with Alyse Eady.
Tom is a native Arkansan, being born in Jacksonville and graduating from Cabot High School in 1985. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University; he holds seals of approval from the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
The event that sparked Tom's interest in and passion about weather occurred on March 29, 1976 when, as a third grader, a tornado all but destroyed downtown Cabot.
He enjoys working with children and educating them about weather, which he does Fridays' during the school year during his "Breakfast with Tom" visits to local schools.
Tom also volunteers his time working with charitable organizations such as Arkansas Food Bank Network, Special Olympics and "Stuff the Sleigh." He also travels the state to speak to or perform emcee duties for various groups.
His hobbies include golf, playing a little tennis, fishing on the Little Red River, working in his yard and spending time with his family. Tom and his wife, Leigh Ann, live in Little Rock with their daughter, Sophia.
