Polar Express stops through the Conway Human Development Center
CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV)- We've all heard of the Polar Express, it’s a classic children's book and a beloved animated movie, but have you heard of the real life polar express here in central Arkansas.
The Conway Human Development Center is hosting their third annual Polar Express.
Volunteer services coordinator for CHDC, Elizabeth Molica, said this event raises awareness about the school and connects the community.
“You get to enjoy a train ride and lots of pictures with different characters from Frozen and there's free hot cocoa and popcorn,” she said.
After the train ride you get to visit the North Pole where you can decorate cookies and take pictures with Santa Claus.
Molica said donations to the school are needed and welcomed, they can be made at the front entrance.
“We're collecting donations for stuff the stocking and if you want to purchase any new socks or clothes, we have a spot where we can collect those for our residents,” she said.
People we talked to in line said the event helps show the community what the Development Center is all about.
“They provide great services for the community as well as for the residents that live here,” said one community member.
Thursday is the last day for this event, it’s open from 5-8 p.m. The event is free but a picture with Santa costs $5.
