Searcy Fire Department builds ramp for man who could not leave home without help

The wheelchair ramp provides this resident with years of safe use!

SEARCY, Ark. — According to the Searcy Fire Department, firefighters from Station 1 recently responded to a call for a fire alarm at a resident's home.

They arrived to the home and made sure the resident was in no immediate danger, however, they did see one major issue.

The resident could not leave his home without assistance.

After this realization, the department decided to take it upon themselves to rectify the highly dangerous situation. They reached out to others in the community for help.

They even brought tools and materials from their own homes.

Now this resident can leave the house without needing the help of someone else.
