LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The mother of missing Little Rock teen, Ebby Steppach, will share her daughter's story on Dr. Phil.
Ebby has been missing since October of 2015. More than two years later, millions will hear her story across the country.
Her mother, Laurie Jernigan, told THV11 it was originally going to be featured as part of a segment about young women who vanished without a trace, but now her daughter's story will be the focus of the entire episode.
"I don't have my hopes up. I used to get my hopes up when something big like this happened with Ebby's story," Jernigan said. "I'm trying not to get my hopes up."
What she does expect is some backlash. Jernigan says she shared with Dr. Phil her frustrations concerning the early investigation of Ebby's disappearance. She believes more could have been done by police to find her daughter.
"You can't tell Ebby's story without starting from the beginning. Unfortunately we had a very rough beginning to say the least. and that can't be skipped over," said Jernigan.
The episode airs December 8 at 3 p.m. on THV11.
