LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update-- Police say the death is being investigated as a homicide. The victim has been identified as 62-year-old Jeff Welch.
According to a police report, a friend came to visit when he found him not breathing on the porch.
Police say Welch had numerous puncture wounds on his neck.
Original-- Little Rock police are a suspicious death on West 12th Street, just two blocks from LRPD's 12th street substation.
The death occurred overnight on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
While our THV11 photographer was on the scene gathering information Wednesday, more shots were fired.
The incident was originally classified as a homicide, but is now being reclassified as a suspicious death until an autopsy can be performed.
After the preliminary investigation, it was not readily apparent that the deceased male had died as the result of a homicide.
