LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Arkansas State Police has been requested to assist in the investigation of a homicide reported on Thursday evening by Monticello police.
Special Agents of the state police Criminal Investigation Division have been assigned to the case.
Monticello officers responded around 6 p.m. to Turtle Creek Apartments on Oakland Avenue. Inside an apartment, police found the body of 32-year-old Roxanne Best who appeared to have been beaten to death.
Best's body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the exact manner and cause of death.
A suspect in the case was identified and formally charged. Camiron King, 28, of Monticello is charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Drew County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
