Woman dies after argument leads to shooting at Jacksonville home, suspect arrested

Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and discovered one deceased female subject inside.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — On Thursday, Jan. 16, 11:13 p.m., officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded to a residence on Braden Street, for a report of a gunshot victim. 

Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and discovered one deceased female subject inside. The female was identified as 21-year-old Jennifer Salcido-Barreda of Little Rock, Ark.

Detectives with the Jacksonville Police Department were notified and responded to the scene to initiate a homicide investigation. During the preliminary stage of the investigation detectives learned that Salcido-Barreda, had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest following an argument.

Detectives have arrested and charged 24-year-old Carlos Flores-Franco with 2nd Degree Murder. Flores-Franco is currently being held with no bond at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.

This is an ongoing investigation and further information will be provided when it becomes available.
