Over the summer, Rose wine gummy bears became a must-have, quickly selling out and leaving some people on a 12,000 person waiting list.
There's no need to wait that long. We tried out a couple of recipes that work. Wine gummy bears look like candy, but make sure to keep them away from children, as they may retain some of the alcohol.
But for the adults, Rose gummy bears make great gifts for a bachelorette parties and can even be used as wedding favors.
- Rose wine
- Jel (Optional for vegans)
- Gummy molds
To start, you are going to need gelatin, sugar and of course, Rose wine.I found the gummy bear molds online for less than $10 and they included a dropper to make it easier to fill.
Take the Rose and measure out one cup.
Cook the Rosé in a small saucepan on low to medium heat and do not let it boil.
Next, add a half cup sugar and whisk it until it dissolves.
Slowly add the gelatin, one packet at a time, into the mixture. Four packets to five packets should work best.
After whisking the mixture pour it into the molds. I used the dropper for better accuracy but a spoon works too.
This recipe will make at least 80 to 100 gummy bears, depending on the size mold you use.
Let it set for at least two hours. When you're done, pop out the gummy bears!
For vegans, use the Jel packets (available at organic food stores) and follow the instructions with the wine and sugar.
Take some store bought gummy bears and place them in a bowl . I used grapefruit flavored bears but any kind will work. Pour the Rose over the gummy bears, cover and set in the fridge for 10 hours.
The gummy bears will expand, And when they are ready to serve, place them in a jar with a lid.
Now it's ready to serve.
