LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — Arkansas Baptist College has named an interim president two and a half weeks after they fired their previous president, Dr. Joseph L. Jones, according to a press release. Dr. Howard Gibson started the position on Dec. 19, the day after Jones was fired, according to the release.

Gibson steps in to run the college while it seeks a permanent hire. He was Dean of the School of Business at ABC from 2009 to 2012 and has 14 years of experience in business and higher education.

ABC terminated Jones because of increasing financial difficulties during his tenure and a lack of transparency with the board of trustees.
