Arkansas reports over 4,100 total COVID-19 cases in public schools

The Arkansas Department of Health reported nearly 2,100 active COVID-19 cases in state public schools as of Monday, Aug. 23.

The Arkansas Department of Health is reporting that there are nearly 2,100 active COVID-19 cases in public schools across the state.

Since the beginning of August, there have been a total of 4,156 positive cases among staff and students in Arkansas's public schools, with 2,091 of those cases active as of Monday, Aug. 23.

Bentonville School District currently has 88 active cases among student and staff. Rogers schools have 74 active cases and Fort Smith schools has 70 active cases.

Cabot and Springdale schools both have 59 active cases.

There are currently 247 active cases in colleges and 49 in private schools.

The Arkansas Department of Health will release a report every Monday and Thursday of COVID-19 cases in school settings.
