LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- One Little Rock Elementary School has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the American Heart Association, and Friday they celebrated.
Roberts Elementary students helped raise $21,329 during this year’s "Jump Rope for Heart" season. That is the largest amount ever raised by a Central Arkansas school, and the most raised in the state in over a decade.
To celebrate their achievement, students got to do things like shave their assistant principal's head and bedazzle their teachers' beards.
Organizers hope the kids are learning, on top of having fun. More than 700 students participated in Jump Rope for Heart this year.
