JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Agents with the Arkansas State Police are investigating the death of an Alabama woman after her body was found north of Jacksonville on Sunday.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Arkansas State Police say the remains are of an unidentified 23-year-old Alabama woman. Officers found her body at Lake Pickthorne.

According to a report, the woman's cellphone was "pinged" roughly three miles north of Chenal Mountain. The woman's car, a white Kia Soul, was discovered just west of Little Rock near Pinnacle Mountain.

Arkansas State Park rangers then notified deputies that a suspect, a Jacksonville man, was seen walking around the vehicle. The suspect then got into the vehicle where he was soon stopped and taken into custody.

Police are currently questioning the suspect in connection with the discovery of her body.

Bill Sadler with the Arkansas State Police said the investigation "continues to evolve" with new information, but he could not comment any further on the case.
