BRYANT, ARK. (KTHV) -- From the outside, it's your average barber shop, but step inside The Art of Men's Cut in Bryant, and it's anything but average.
Motorcycles, billiards, and 13 busy barbers, beautifying Arkansas one guy at a time.
"We're the biggest in the state," said shop owner William Oraha, "and we're a mom and pop shop."
Oraha brought his hip take on barbering from the west coast.
"I think it's a breath of fresh air," he said. "It's not what it used to be. An old retired Navy guy doing buzz cuts, high and tights? No. The majority of our cuts, the really good cuts that are going around, are coming out of a shop. This shop.”
He brought fashion-forward ideas back to him home state.
"We were doing side parts years ago before it even hit Arkansas," he said. "We're always looking for what's trending now, whether it's blue-collar, white-collar, professional, whatever.”
From professionals to preschoolers, Oraha cuts for them all. Josh Baugh is from Jefferson County, but drives to Bryant to get his and his son's hair cut.
"We drive quite a while," he admitted, "but it's worth it. And now everybody I know comes here. Everywhere we go, people comment on my son's haircut. Everywhere. Everyday."
And if you want to get comments on your hair, Oraha said, sometimes you've gotta get out of your comfort zone. Ask your barber.
"Sometimes," he explained, "we see a certain look that suits you. You don't thinik about it. I've seen it so many times where we'll say you should try this you'd look good. And they go for it and say man I've never been complimented on my hair. And say that looks really good on you."
