SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KTHV) -- Steven Dishman escaped from the Cummins Unit in 1985.

Sunday, a little over 32 years after his initial escape, he was captured in Springdale. He was taken into custody by local law enforcement and Arkansas State Police. He is now being held in the Varner Unit.

Dishman was originally arrested in Washington County. He was serving a seven year sentence for theft of property and burglary, according to the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Dishman was convicted on December 20, 1984. He escaped on May 28, 1985. His original parole eligibility date was December 28, 1987 and his original discharge date was June 28, 1991.
