LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Former Little Rock Assistant Chief of Police Eric Higgins has announced he is running for Pulaski County Sheriff.

He has served in law enforcement for 30 years. He started as a cadet and spent 20 years in a supervisory capacity, 10 of those he served as Assistant Chief of Police of Little Rock, according to a released statement by Higgins.

Higgins said his approach to the job of Pulaski County Sheriff will be based on three principles: community focused, safety driven, and integrity based.

“It is because of my wide law enforcement experience, my education, and my understanding of the need for community involvement in crime prevention and re-entry that I ask for your support and your vote to be the next Sheriff of Pulaski County,” Higgins said.
