LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Saturday, UAMS welcomed back families whose babies had spent time in the NICU.

UAMS held its 6th NICU reunion to celebrate "growth and reconnection". Costumed super heroes greeted and took pictures with the children.

Doctors and nurses chatted with parents. There were also educational demonstrations and car seat safety checks.

UAMS's NICU takes care of more than 1,500 babies each year, according to a released statement from UAMS.
