BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) – Habitat of Humanity of Saline County will be hosting a neighborhood clean-up event at their “Partnership Village" this week.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 15 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Partnership Village at S. Market and Woodlawn streets in Benton.

Volunteers from the Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter of Western Kentucky University along with a group of 30 young men from Arkansas Youth Challenge at Camp Robinson will be mowing yards, raking leaves, pruning and planting new shrubs and spreading mulch to beautify the neighborhood. Home Depot is providing shrubs, mulch, and lawn care equipment. Recycle Saline will be providing a dumpster for yard waste. Saline County Master Gardeners will be providing hands on training to these volunteers, and First Security Bank will be grilling lunch for the event.

The partnership between Habitat for Humanity, Arkansas Youth Challenge, Home Depot, and First Security Bank represents a strong effort to keep this Habitat neighborhood clean and to be an area of pride for Habitat homeowners. The Habitat for Humanity “Partnership Village” of Saline County is a neighborhood comprised of over 50 Habitat homes, where each family put in “sweat equity hours” before moving in to their homes.
