LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — A lot of people are staying inside to escape the summer heat but just because you can't go outside doesn't mean you can't have a good time.

Sometimes hot summer days aren't meant for the pool, they're meant for indoor activities, like the skating rink or trampoline jump park. R.J David, General Manager of Arkansas Skatium, said people come to the rink in the summer to escape the heat.

“You can't do a lot of things outside because of the heat advisory and you're not only staying cool but you're getting exercise while you're doing it. It's a good fitness activity to do and you get to stay cool without the fear of a heat stroke,” he said.

Alida Kaufmann said the rink is her escape.

“I get to get away from all that heat outside and stay in here and it's really fun,” she said.

Ice skating isn't your only option, there's also places like Altitude Trampoline Park.

“It's just good to get out of the heat, we have a good air conditioning and it's a good family environment and everyone can jump around and have a good time. It doesn't matter if you're 80 years-old or 8, it doesn't matter,” said Altitude Park worker, Peyton Scott.

Carl Goss said he and his daughter were still breaking a sweat but not near as bad as they would outside.

“It's cooler inside here than it is outside, especially this time of the year when it's so hot outside,” Goss said.

So if you're looking to beat the heat, there's plenty of fun to find, no sweat.
