NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 28, 2016) -- After a 13-year hiatus, the historic Levy Day celebration, renown for its premiere political rallies since 1954, will return to North Little Rock this Saturday, October 29 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Kroger Shopping Center on Camp Robinson.

The event is sponsored by the Levy Business Association (LBA) and is free to the pubic. A grand prize of $500 cash will be won by the lucky winner at the close of the political speeches, and $50 gift cards will be awarded each half hour!

“We’re blending the old fashioned traditions of the past with the politics and culture of Today’s Levy,” said Peggy Hogg, President of the Levy Business Association and works to support businesses and improve the community in Levy. “We invite the public to celebrate the return of Levy Day with a fun-filled day afternoon of political speeches, family friendly games and activities, face painting, inflatable bouncy houses, halloween costumes for the kids, entertainment, great food trucks, beer garden and many GREAT prizes. Must be present to win!

Candidates from national, state, county, and local races have been invited to speak for 3-5 minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will have booths set up to meet and greet the public before and after their speeches. Halloween treats will be handed out to kids who are encouraged to wear their Halloween Costumes.

North Little Rock Police Officer Tommy Norman will be on hand to greet the kids and parents, and at 5:30 p.m. will lead the official flag waving “Parade of Candidates” in which the kids will join the politicians in making their way to the stage. Master of Ceremonies will be Terry Hartwick, former Mayor and Director of North Little Rock Parks and Recreation, and entertainment will be provided by the Mariachi Viva Jalisco Band and the young Hispanic dance troupe from St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
