HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) – Friday was a busy day down in Hot Springs.
Oaklawn races and Saint Patrick’s Day brought in a crowd of people to Hot Springs. Part of the Saint Patrick’s Day celebration is the “World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade”. By 5 p.m. Friday, people were already lining the streets waiting to see Hot Springs’ famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
People from all over were there for the famous 14th annual “Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade”. We talked to people from Tulsa, Springfield, Malvern, and some locals from right there in Hot Springs. They were decked out from head to toe wearing Irish hats, Irish-themed shirts, beads, and glitter.
Friday was an exciting day these tourists have been looking forward to.
“We're here to see Rick Flair today, the man who is going to start the 14th annual parade. We're going to try to get his autograph with some cards and pictures we brought with us,” said one tourist.
The parade kicked off at 6:30 Friday night.
