HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) – A Hot Springs man was arrested on Monday after police discovered that he was plotting to kill a woman.

On February 21, Hot Springs Police Detectives became aware of 58-year-old Ricky Alexander’s plot to commit murder. HSPD detectives worked in conjunction with the Garland County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.

Police say that Alexander was out on bond at the time of his March 13 arrest. He had previously been arrested for first degree battery, which stemmed from him attempting to shoot the husband of the woman he had reportedly been plotting to kill on October 7, and injuring another man.

After Alexander exchanged money with a confidential informant for the murder of the woman, he was arrested.

Alexander is being held at the Garland County Detention Center and charged with solicitation of murder in the first degree, a class A felony. His bond is set at $750,000.
