FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- A jury trial at the Faulkner County Circuit Court has found 55-year-old Philip Frederic guilty of conspiracy to commit rape.
On February 15, 2016, Frederic was arrested after an undercover investigator made online contact with Frederic, who was seeking an underage female. They made arrangements to meet in Mayflower with the "purpose to engage in sexual activity with an underage female," according to police.
Frederic was found guilty by the jury and sentenced to 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
“As Sheriff of Faulkner County, I am committed in tracking down predators that are willing to victimize the citizens of Faulkner County, young and old. These type of cyber crimes are done by perpetrators who remain in the shadows. They have no face until caught. These predators are someone’s neighbor, family member or relatives and these crimes may never be discovered or brought to light if we didn’t work towards discovering these predators. Crimes such as conspiracy to commit rape are intolerable to me, and I will not rest while our team continues to fight for the citizens of this fine county. Through the committed excellence of this administration and our Criminal Investigation Division, Faulkner County is safer home for our children and their families," said Sheriff Tim Ryals.
