SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Jacksonville and Sherwood city councils voted "yes" on Thursday to holding a special election concerning the sale of alcohol in restaurants in a part of town that is currently dry.
As of now, restaurants in the Gray Township can only serve alcohol with a private club license. The Gray Township crosses Jacksonville and Sherwood city lines and has banned alcohol sales since the mid-1950s.
The special election will be held on November 14. Only voters within the original township boundaries can cast ballots.
