A Little Rock police officer is being commended after an act of gratitude at a Waffle House on Geyer Springs Road.

The Little Rock Police Department posted on its Facebook page that Officer Cole Reppond received a Letter of Commendation after helping a man when he couldn't pay for his meal.

The department said the man had finished a meal at Waffle House but couldn't pay for it on April 20.

So when Reppond arrived he offered to paid for the man's meal instead of arresting him for theft of services.

Sometimes it's the smallest act of kindness that can go a long way in the community.
