LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Wednesday afternoon Big Daddy's Pawn Shop on 12th Street was robbed at gunpoint.
Police said the suspect demanded cash and guns and made the other customer in the store leave.
“The clerk or the person working there complied with his demands,” said Officer Steve Moore with the Little Rock Police Department.
The store workers said they were armed but didn't feel the need to make the situation worse.
Officer Moore with Little Rock police said the increase in weapons being stolen could be adding to the increased crime rate the city is experiencing.
“We have a lot of guns taken out of a cars, people leave them in their car and those guns turn back up on the street involved in a crime or in the arrest of a criminal,” he said.
He said most of the guns they confiscate from people turn out to be stolen.
“They're going to get their weapons one way or another, whether they're stealing them or a convicted felon, they'll get someone to go purchase it for them. It seems like weapons are always available on the street,” he said.
As for the suspect, police are still searching for him, and they need your help to find him.
“We hope we can get some phone calls because somebody's going to know him and somebody is going to recognize him,” he said.
If you have any information about his identity or come into contact with this suspect, please contact Detective Chris Johnson at 404-3030.
