MONTGOMERY CO., Ark. (KTHV) - Police in Montgomery County confirmed that 10-year-old Fischer Newton has returned home safely.

Around 2 a.m. Friday morning, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Newton walked back to his home, after his disappearance nearly 24 hours earlier.

He was last seen wearing gym shorts, a blue digital camo long sleeved shirt with word "HUK" printed on it, and a pair of muck boots.

Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game and Fish, Arkansas Department of Corrections, United States Forest Service, and the Mount Ida Fire Department assisted in the search.
