MORRILTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- A group with a mission in Morrilton is creating comfort for people who need it most.
The group calls themselves the Golden Girls.
“The Golden Girls kind of stuck because we had some crazy one's like the Golden Girls on TV, not really, just crazy, just fun loving,” Betty Strassner said.
The Golden Girls are a group at Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton that have started a turban ministry. They make jewelry and turban headbands out of t-shirts for cancer patients in Arkansas and across the country.

“I have made right at 1,000 and she has made probably at least 2,000,” Strassner said.
They start out with a used t-shirt and cut it up into strips and start wrapping! Then they cut one long strip and pin it to the top with a brioche or button. The turbans come in different colors and sizes.
Pastor Craig Duncan said this ministry is just getting started.
“This is an opportunity for us to take old t-shirts, pretty them up a little bit, and give cancer patients the opportunity to feel normal and loved and like they're not in this fight alone,” said Duncan.
The Golden Girls are asking for people to donate t-shirt’s they have (in good condition) to their church so they can continue to help cancer patients.
